221118000381 - Closure and rezoning of Erf 9806 Swakopmund Ext 39 as Public Open Space.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is for the permanent closure of Erf 9806 Swakopmund Extension 39 (2251m²) as Public Open Space and subsequent rezoning to General Business on condition that adjacent Erf 9793 Swakopmund Extension 39 (1835m²) be rezoned from General Residential 2 to Public Open Space to partially replace open space. Subsequent to the closure and replacement of Public Open Space is to consolidate Erf 9806 with Erf 9794 Swakopmund Extension 39 (4468m²) to create a larger General Business plot for a service station, convenience centre, supermarket and the required on-site parking. An ECC for the proposed service station was issued on 28 June 2020 and does not form part of this application for an ECC. This application simply assembles a larger site for the proposed development which entails the closure and rezoning of Public Open Space which is a listed activity. To summarise, the ECC will permit the permanent closure of Erf 9806 Swakopmund Extension 39 as Public Open Space and rezoning to General Business.
