The ECC is for the operation and maintenance of an existing 66kV Khan – Marble transmission line and Marble substation in Erongo Region. The 66kV Khan – Marble transmission line and Marble substation was constructed in 2004 was constructed prior to the promulgation of the Environmental Management Act no 7 of 2007 and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of 2012. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
