Green Gain Consultants cc was requested by the Proponent (Cape Cross Namib Investment (Pty) Ltd) to provide environmental monitoring for the salt mining activities on ML147. The preliminary operational activities on the site commenced in August 2022, while the actual mining activities are expected to commence in early 2023. The biannual reports which detail the environmental performance during the two biannual periods namely, January 2022 to June 2022 and July 2022 to December 2022 are hereto attached. The biannual reports are to be submitted to the Regulatory Authority, (MEFT) in line with the EMA, 07 of 2007. The ECC has been renewed and is still valid from 2021-10-28 to 2024-10-28.
