ECC is fr the Capital and Maintenance Dredging at the Naval Base in the Port of Walvis Bay. Support infrastructure to the Namibian Navy's operations include a quay, jetty, slipway and manoeuvring area dedicated to their vessels. Over time, the sea area of the Naval Base becomes shallower due to continuous deposition of sediments. This poses safety risks to vessels and their crew, as well as limits the available berthing and operational space available to the Namibian Navy. To allow for optimal and safe use of the water area, it is imperative that water depth be increased through a process of dredging.
