230914002115 - THE APPLICATION TO RENEW THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN EXISTING OBIB TRANSMISSION STATION IN \\KARAS REGION.

The application to renew the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of an existing Obib transmission station in \\Karas Region. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. In 2020 NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of the Obib Transmission Station. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for the Obib Transmission Station in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
