THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE RENEWAL IS FOR: o Activity 5.1 – Land Use and Development Activities (a) – The rezoning of land from residential use to industrial or commercial use. DETAILS OF THE ACTIVITY(S) COVERED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE: Title of the Activity The Rezoning of Portion 32 of Portion 5 of the Farm Döbra No. 49, Brakwater form ‘residential’ to ‘industrial’. THE NEED FOR THE BOTTLING PLANT AND DISTRIBUTION CENTRE AT FARM DÖBRA Interpack cc`s initial premises (in Prosperita) have become too small to deal with the increasing demand for bottled fruit juices, both locally and regionally. It has accordingly become necessary to increase the Plant`s production capacity requiring more land, i.e. Portion 32, a portion of Portion 5 of the Farm Döbra No. 49 in Brakwater was rezoned. Location of Activity The Bottling Plant and Distribution Centre is located on Portion 32 of Portion 5 of the Farm Döbra No. 49, located in the Brakwater area north of Windhoek. Scale and Scope of Activity The Bottling Plant and Distribution Centre take up 3ha of the 5ha. The scope of the Bottling Plant and Distribution Centre entails a bottling component and a logistics component. The bottling plant entails the mixing of fruit juices concentrate with water and the bottling thereof in 250ml or 1.5l bottles. These are packed onto plastic or wooden pallets, wrapped with shrink plastic ready for distribution and then stored in the warehouses (i.e. Distribution Centre). From the warehouse it is distributed throughout Namibia with trucks.
