RE-REGISTRATION OF APPLICATION ON MEFT ONLINE SYSTEM FINAL EIA SUBMISSION: PROPOSED TUMAS PROJECT AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE ERONGO REGION OF NAMIBIA RUN submitted an application to the Ministry of Mines and Energy to convert, in part, its Exclusive Prospecting Licences (EPLs) 3496 and 3497 to a Mining Licence (ML). RUN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (Pty) Ltd (RMR) who manages and conducts the exploration activities on RUN’s tenements. RUN and RMR are both wholly owned subsidiaries of Deep Yellow Ltd. (Deep Yellow), an Australian listed company. The Project area is located in the Namib Naukluft National Park (NNNP) in the Erongo Region of Namibia, approximately 40 km east from Walvis Bay and can be reached via the C28 or the C14 roads. The various Project activities and infrastructure proposed for the Tumas Project can broadly be summarised as follows: • Open Pit mining. • Ore transported with haul trucks to the onsite plant for processing. • Mineral and non-mineral waste (i.e. radioactive contaminated) from the mining and processing activities to be disposed of at onsite facilities (Waste Rock Dumps (WRDs) and Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs)). • Use of reagents for processing. • Water supply and storage as well as power supply to the mining and processing activities. • Final product, uranium oxide (U3O8) and by-product, vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) exported for further processing.
