The ECC is for The operation and maintenance of the 66kV Walmund – Tamarisk and Walmund – Swakopmund 1 transmission lines including the Swakopmund, Rosmund and Tamarisk Substations in Erongo Region. In 2019 NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation of 66kV Rosmund – Tamarisk. NamPower would like to apply for the renewal of the 66kV Walmund – Tamarisk in order to comply to the Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The title of the ECC issued in 2019 was: The operation of the 66 kV Rosmund – Tamarisk transmission in Erongo Region. However, the title will change to: The operation and maintenance of an existing 66kV Walmund – Tamarisk and Walmund – Swakopmund transmission lines including the Rosmund, Swakopmund and Tamarisk substations in Erongo region. The change will ensure that the correct name of the line is captured as well as to include Walmund – Swakopmund line; the T-off line to Rosmund and Tamarisk and three associated substations that were not included in the previous ECC.
